Our first journey: A travelogue
Sikkim is the north-eastern part of India. Sikkim became the part of India in 1975, before that it was an independent state. It is founded by Namgyal Dynasty. Sikkim has four districts: East, West, North and South.
The capital of Sikkim is Gangtok which is present in East district. Aside for being the regulatory center point of the state, East Sikkim is likewise the center point of the tourism activities in the Hamalian area. The rich greenery, entrancing valleys, delightful lakes, numerous old monasteries and temples enhance East Sikkim drawing in a large number of vacationers.
We the students of Medhavi Skills University, creative writing club had gone to Rongichu Water Garden located on 32-mile, East Sikkim for our first travelogue. We reached there at 9:30 AM by the bus provided to us by the University. As soon as we reached there, we had to buy tickets which was 10 rupees per person. We were welcomed by a beautiful scenery and peaceful soothing place, settled in the lap of Mother Nature, which gave our mind different kind of happiness and calmness.
I was so lost in nature for some time then coming back to my senses, I realized sir was warning me no to standing on top of the rock or else I would slip and fall. There is a river below the Garden called Rani Khola and a Powerhouse across the garden.
Then we interacted with Mr. Madan Chettri, the head care- taker of the garden who has been employed by the government. Giving us the historical background about the park he told us that it was built in 1975 by the government under Park and Garden scheme.
There were so many plants and big trees and a variety of little bushes that we had never seen before.
We collected some names of the plants and trees. There were:
1) Kainjal (Mother tree).
2) Alocasia.
3)Chamelia
4) Funkia.
5) Monstera (rare plant).
6) Asoca.
7) Gold-dust.
8) Ferns (tree fern).
9) Dracaena.
10) Codolin
There was a small restaurant at the roadside where we can enjoy hot soup of Waiwai, Maggie, delicious momos, snacks and cold drinks.
I strongly suggest everyone to go there at least once and enjoy the beauty of nature.
As mentioned by Mr. Madan Chettri, there are some do's and don'ts which we need to follow while inside the garden:
