Our first journey: A travelogue

Sikkim is the north-eastern part of India. Sikkim became the part of India in 1975, before that it was an independent state. It is founded by Namgyal Dynasty. Sikkim has four districts: East, West, North and South.  The capital of Sikkim is Gangtok which is present in East district. Aside for being the regulatory center point of the state, East Sikkim is likewise the center point of the tourism activities in the Hamalian area. The rich greenery, entrancing valleys, delightful lakes, numerous old monasteries and temples enhance East Sikkim drawing in a large number of vacationers.  We the students of Medhavi Skills University, creative writing club had gone to Rongichu Water Garden located on 32-mile, East Sikkim for our first travelogue. A newly wedded couple, Hina and Hemant just shifted to an apartment. They were living happily and was satisfied with their new life. One day, when Hemant was out for his business meeting, an old man of about 60 years or more, with grey hair, wrinkled face and all, who was wearing ragged clothes came and knocked the door. When Hina asked who he was, the man replied that he lived in the same building just beside their apartment and wanted to give them a present as they are new to the place and also as their wedding gift. He gave a barrel full of vodka. The wife thanked the man, and he too was grateful that she took his gift. The man said, "Thank you," and smiled sweetly and went back to his room. She felt happy to receive the present.                My grandmother was always a lovely lady. Despite of her old age, wrinkled face and hands, she was my idol. She spoiled me with lots of love and care, I think that's the reason I miss her so much.         The best memory of me with my granny is when she pulled me and put me in her lap and fed me with her own hands. The coziness of her shawl, and her hug, I always wished I could experience and feel the same one day but unfortunately, it's never going to happen.          The proud smile she gave every time she saw me in my school uniform, the 5-rupee coin she placed on my hand before I left for school, everything was so good with her. We were a happy family.           After she passed away, I always felt a vacancy, a hollowness that still remains.               " Wings of fire" is an autobiography of APJ Abdul Kalam. This book covers his life before becoming the President of India. It consists of his family background, the pain and sufferings he had gone throughout his life before he became successful.          He was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, India. He came from a very humble background. In this book, he gives minute details of his life. He talks about the struggles that he had to go through because of his financial instability.           Dr. Kalam is not only famous for being a scientist and the President of our country, but also as a teacher who loved teaching and a writer as well.
